This policy explains what OHGOI ("we", "us") collects when you use www.ohgoi.com, including the free Resume Builder, and how we use it. We are based in Lucknow, India, and handle personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
1. What we collect
Account details: your name and email address, and a password stored only in scrambled (hashed) form. If you continue with Google or LinkedIn, we receive your name and verified email address from them and nothing else. We never see your Google or LinkedIn password.
Resume content: the text, dates, skills and optional photo you type into the Resume Builder. Without an account, this stays in your own browser. With an account, it is saved on our server so you can open it on any device.
Usage data: anonymous counts of which templates are downloaded, and basic technical data such as IP address and browser type, used for security and to stop abuse.
Messages: anything you send through our contact form or email.
2. How we use it
To run your account, save and show your resumes, send account emails (confirmation and password reset), answer your messages, keep the service secure, and understand which templates people like. We do not sell your data and do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.
3. Shared resume links
If you switch on a public link for a resume, anyone with that link can see it. You can switch it off at any time. Contact details can be hidden from the public view.
4. Who else handles your data
Our website hosting provider (Hosting Raja, India) stores our files and database. Google or LinkedIn process your sign-in if you choose that option, under their own privacy policies. Email is sent from our own domain. We do not use advertising trackers.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect forms, and your browser's local storage to keep your resume draft on your device. These are needed for the service to work.
6. How long we keep it
Account and resume data is kept while your account is active. You can delete any resume yourself, and you can ask us to delete your whole account and its data at any time. Backups are cleared within a reasonable period after that.
7. Your rights
You may ask to access, correct, download or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent. Email us at contact@ohgoi.com and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed, pages are served over HTTPS, and sign-in attempts are rate limited. No online service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
9. Children
The Resume Builder is meant for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
